In thinking back over our six months of working together, I can say with zero hesitation that there's no way I’d be running for state representative if it weren’t for Emerge. The nuts-and-bolts training, the information and resources, the timelines and projects and handouts: I actually know what I’m doing! And when I don’t, I know where to turn.

It was an amazing evening honoring Vermont Democratic women past, present, and future. We're thrilled to welcome Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley as a special guest and keynote speaker at the event.

Meet Jana Brown! Jana is running for the Richmond Library Board. She's a member of our Class of 2018. Jana is the Executive Director of the Children's Literacy Foundation, and the mother of a young son.

Meet Ebony Nyoni! Ebony is running for Winooski City Council. She's a member of our Class of 2018. A former educator and prominent community activist, Ebony is a co-founder of Black Lives Matter Vermont.

Meet Julie Raboin! Julie is running for re-election to the Newport City Council, to which she was appointed to fill a vacancy last year. She's a member of our Class of 2014. Julie grew up on a dairly farm in the Northeast Kingdom, and currently works as a prevention specialist at the Vermont Department of Health.

Meet Laura Williams! Laura is running for the South Burlington School Board. She's a member of our Class of 2018. The mother of two South Burlington Schools alumni, Laura works as a Spanish teacher at Essex High School.

Meet Diane Kirson-Glitman! Diane is running for re-election to the Mount Mansfield Modified Unified School Board. She's a member of our Class of 2016. Diane is a pediatric nurse and is currently the school nurse at Essex High School. She has served on her local school board for thirteen years!

Melody Deflorio is running for Orange Southwest School Board to represent the town of Randolph. She's a member of our Class of 2018. Melody is the Director of Financial Aid at the Vermont Law School and the mother of a young daughter. Even during snow and rain, Melody has been getting out to meet voters and hear their concerns and ideas.

Meet Leah Romano! Leah is running for Norwich Selectboard. She's a member of our Class of 2018. Leah is a human resources and communications manager at a local medical firm and loves her small town.

Meet Martine Gulick! Martine is running to represent Ward 4 on the Burlington School Board. Martine is the Director of Library Media Services at Essex High School and Center for Technology, and the mother of children who graduated from the Burlington Public Schools.
