Meet Anne Watson!

Meet Anne Watson! Anne is running for Mayor of Montpelier. She is an alumna of the 2017 Emerge New England Bootcamp. She is a current Montpelier City Councilor and President of the Council. Anne is also a physics teacher and coach at Montpelier High School.

What office are you running for and why?

I am running for Mayor of Montpelier because I believe it is crucially important during this time of national political upheaval that local governments lead the way in setting policies that will protect both the environment and the most vulnerable people in our community.

What's your favorite thing about the community you hope to serve?

I love Montpelier's strong sense of community, and its commitment to inclusivity and taking care of each other.

What role has Emerge played in your candidacy?

Emerge gave me the practical tools to confidently navigate the campaign trail.

What advice would you give another woman thinking about running for office?

If you're passionate, committed, and willing to learn, then you're qualified, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise (including yourself)!
