This is BIG!

Today is the filing deadline in Vermont for candidates to have their name placed on the ballot for the 2014 elections. And, Emerge Vermont has exciting news.

Four members of the inaugural Emerge Vermont Class of 2014 have stepped forward to RUN for office this year.  That’s right! Not even graduates of the program yet with a few more training sessions to go, and already these Emerge program members are putting their training and newly acquired skills to work.

Their campaigns won’t be easy, and the hours will be long. But these candidates are up to the challenge, and ready to get to work. Emerge Vermont's training and network have provided the confidence and support necessary to inspire these leaders to run.

We began this work 18 months ago with a mission to increase the number of women running for office in Vermont, and today we are witnessing a milestone in that movement.

Will you take a moment to get to know these candidates?
